This week at Forest School, the children enjoyed a very special Fire Week. We gathered around the fire circle where everyone had the opportunity to toast marshmallows and enjoy a warm hot drink. The children were excited to learn about fire safety and demonstrated excellent listening skills while following our fire circle rules.
Linking to our Science topic on sound, the children took part in a sound hunt around the woodland area. They listened carefully for different sounds in nature, identifying birds singing, leaves rustling in the wind, and the sounds of their friends exploring nearby.
The mud kitchen was a popular area once again, with children using natural materials to create imaginative recipes and work together in collaborative play. We also got creative by making leaf pictures of forest animals, using a variety of leaves to design some fantastic woodland creatures.
It was a fun-filled session that encouraged creativity, teamwork, observation skills, and a deeper appreciation of the natural world. Well done, Year 3!
