What an incredible few days our Year 5 children have had on their residential trip to Castlerigg in Keswick! Following our theme of "Shine Your Light," every child had the opportunity to challenge themselves, support others, and discover new strengths.

Throughout the residential, the children took part in a variety of exciting group activities which encouraged teamwork, resilience and problem-solving. It was wonderful to see the children working together, cheering one another on and celebrating each other's successes. They truly demonstrated our HRSE values by showing kindness, looking after their friends and making sure nobody was left out.

One of the highlights of the trip was spending two nights away from home. For many children, this was a new experience and a big achievement. They showed great independence, managed their own belongings and grew in confidence with each passing day. It was fantastic to watch friendships strengthen as the children shared rooms, meals and memorable experiences together.

The beautiful Lake District provided the perfect backdrop for our adventures. We enjoyed a lovely walk, taking in the stunning scenery and appreciating the natural beauty around us, with plenty of smiles, laughter and friendly competition along the way!

Throughout the trip, the children embodied the spirit of "Shine Your Light." Whether they were encouraging a friend, working as part of a team, stepping outside their comfort zone or simply showing kindness, they all found ways to let their unique qualities shine.

We are incredibly proud of every single child. They have represented our school brilliantly and returned home with wonderful memories, new skills and increased confidence. After such an action-packed few days, we are sure they will all be ready for a good night's sleep tonight and a well-deserved restful weekend with their families.

Well done, Year 5. Your lights have certainly been shining brightly this week!
