Year 5 Elections

This week, our Year 5 classroom was filled with excitement as we held our class elections! We are incredibly proud of every child who took part in the process.

The children spent time carefully preparing their presentations, thinking about the qualities they could bring to their chosen roles and how they could make a positive difference to our school community. Standing up and speaking in front of classmates can be daunting, but every child showed tremendous bravery, confidence and determination as they shared their ideas.

The elections helped the children develop many important skills. They demonstrated excellent communication skills by speaking clearly and confidently, organisation skills by preparing their speeches, and resilience by stepping outside their comfort zones. They also showed respect, responsibility and active listening, carefully considering each candidate before casting their votes.

We would like to say a huge congratulations to Ivy and Shay, who were elected as our Student Council Representatives. We know they will represent the views and ideas of Year 5 brilliantly. We would also like to congratulate Ivy-May, who was elected as our Sports Council Representative. We are sure she will be a fantastic ambassador for sport and healthy living within our school.

Whether they were elected or not, every child should be extremely proud of themselves. Taking part in the elections required courage, confidence and a willingness to contribute to our class community. We were amazed by the quality of the presentations and the enthusiasm shown by everyone involved.

Well done, Year 5! We are incredibly proud of your confidence, maturity and positive attitude. We look forward to seeing all the wonderful contributions our new representatives will make throughout the year.
