What an exciting and very busy week we had last week, in Year 5!

We were delighted to visit Corpus Christi High School again to finish off our pinch pots. This time, we focused on adding colour by painting our designs, as well as decorating them with patterns and creating different textures. It was wonderful to see everyone’s creativity shine through, and we are very proud of the finished pieces! Pictures to follow!

We also had a fantastic opportunity to visit OLSE for a truly inspirational and insightful talk from Chris Lubbe. He shared his powerful experiences of growing up in South Africa and spoke about his role as one of Nelson Mandela’s bodyguards. Chris also taught us about the incredible work Nelson Mandela did, from his time in prison to becoming the President of South Africa. His message about resilience, equality and making a positive difference in the world really made us think.

To finish the week, we had a special Mind session where we focused on resilience and thinking about our dreams for the future. We discussed how challenges can help us grow and how it is important to keep trying, even when things feel difficult. The children reflected on their goals and aspirations, sharing their hopes and encouraging one another to believe in themselves and never give up.

It was a week full of learning, creativity and inspiration – well done Year 5 for your hard work and enthusiasm!
