May has been a purposeful and productive month for Year 6. The children approached their SATs with confidence, maturity and a strong work ethic. I am extremely proud of the determination they showed throughout the week and of the positive attitude they brought to each assessment. Thank you to all parents and carers for your ongoing support, including your generous contributions to the SATs buffet. Your involvement helped create a calm and encouraging atmosphere for the children.

We have had our auditions this week for The Wizard of Oz and roles have now been allocated. Scripts will be sent home for children to begin learning over the half‑term break and we are looking forward to working together on what promises to be a memorable performance. This week we have also enjoyed a visit to Fulwood Library, where we explored a wide range of books and learned more about the services available. The children represented the school exceptionally well and showed great enthusiasm for reading throughout the visit.

Alongside this, we have been preparing for Sports Day by practising a variety of events and demonstrating excellent teamwork and encouragement towards one another. We have also taken part in bikeability training, during which instructors praised their focus, road awareness and responsible attitude. What a busy couple of weeks! 

A number of important events are scheduled for the second half of the summer term. I will share further details when we return after half term, but please note the following key dates.
