Athletics, Computing and a bit of Maths thrown in!Despite the very wet weather on Thursday, Cherry class still managed to kick start their Athletics topic in PE. We focused on jumping – the long jump and the triple jump (hop, skip and a jump to some of us!). The children did a great job at honing their skills, jumping further each time – there was some competitive members of the class, that really tried hard to get the furthest jump. Well done to Mylo, who was the class winner this week! They took it in turns to measure each others jumps using metre sticks and record the data. On Friday, the children then used this data to create a spreadsheet, as part of our database topic, to create tables and graphs to represent their results.

We are hoping that the weather improves next week, allowing us to get outside to continue our work on our jumps along with, timing and measuring distances using a trundle wheel, whilst developing our short and long distance running.
