What an amazing week we have had celebrating everything STEM! Our week kicked off with an incredible STEM assembly led by our STEM Ambassadors – well done to Rudy from Cherry. On Monday morning, we moved outside for our Maths lesson and make use of the orienteering course and also completed our Maths Challenge set for day one. We have been touching on elements of Science all week, focusing on plants and scientists associated with this area of Science. On Tuesday we had a fantastic assembly on Engineering, led by Rory Martin. He shared his knowledge on engineering and his role as an aeronautical engineer. The children found it fascinating and enjoyed taking part in the assembly – a great way to inspire the engineers of the future!
Throughout the week, we have had Lego and Ozobot sessions taking place, which have really engaged the children and parents. On Wednesday afternoon, we welcomed parents to join their children at our STEM cafe – thank you to those who were able to join us – I think parents and children had a great time. On Thursday, we were jam packed with visits from Preston college throughout the day – popping in to run sessions based on the different elements of STEM, before having a STEM assembly from Preston College at the end of the day.
I think after this busy week, not to mention Sports Day on Friday, we are all ready for a relaxing half term.
