This week has define been a wild one in our journey to Africa exploring the different habitats and animals that are there. We have explored different fruits and food types and talked about healthy options we can choose. Some of the children even made Merlin a healthy dog restaurant and gave him different food types then let him choose his favourite. As he wasn’t with us last week the children had great fun telling him about the animals from the Arctic and Antarctic comparing the different feature of each habitat to Africa. With this we moved these areas outside where it’s still rather chilly and kept the warmth of Africa indoors. This enabled us to compare the two temperatures throughout the week. The children enjoyed having a visit from Mrs Clack where they could tell her about there snowflake and temperature investigations.
We have explored all the different patterns on the animals from our safari, creating them for our friends to guess what animals we saw. We have heard stories about and from areas of Africa creating different versions with ourselves in them. Let’s not forget our journey around the Bangweulu Wetlands where we learnt about the different animals whilst keeping ourselves safe on our bridges and walkways in PE.
