This week in RE, Year 5 have been learning about Pentecost and the importance of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We looked at how the Holy Spirit gives us strength, courage and guidance, just like it did for the disciples after Jesus had returned to heaven. The children shared thoughtful ideas about how they can live by the fruits of the Spirit in their daily lives, such as kindness, patience and peace.
This afternoon, we also took part in a beautiful May procession as we begin the month of May, the month of Mary. The children created lovely flowers to honour Mary and sang hymns beautifully during the service. It was a calm and reflective session that helped us to think about Mary’s faith and her role as our loving mother.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who were able to join us and share this special time with the children. It was a wonderful celebration of faith and community, and the children should be very proud of themselves.
