Willow and Hazel Class have spent lots of time together this week and it’s been so lovely to see everyone mixing and learning alongside each other.
We’ve had a really hands-on week, with lots of chances to get stuck into our learning. One of the highlights was our 2D and 3D shape hunt around the playground in the sunshine. We loved exploring and spotting shapes in real life and there was lots of excitement (and a bit of healthy competition!) as we pointed out the shapes around us.
We also took our learning outside for some art, creating self-portraits using natural materials inspired by Andy Goldsworthy! We used leaves, sticks, stones and petals to design our faces, and it was lovely to see how creative everyone was with their ideas - no two were the same!
Of course, the biggest excitement of the week had to be the baby chicks! We were so gentle and caring when holding them, and it was such a calm, special moment. It also sparked lots of great conversations and questions. Following this, we produced some amazing writing, focusing on persuasive pieces. We had one very important mission: to convince Mrs Miller to take the chicks home with her… and we’re very pleased to say it worked!
It’s been a busy but brilliant week, full of creativity, teamwork and lots of smiles. We’re really proud of how well everyone has worked together and supported each other.
