This week has been another busy and exciting one in Year 6, with lots of learning and creativity happening across the curriculum.
We were very lucky to take part in a poetry workshop with author Rachel Walmsley. She inspired us with her love of words and helped us to explore different ways of writing and performing poetry. The children were fully engaged and produced some thoughtful and creative pieces of their own.
In preparation for the May Procession, we have begun practising our singing and had great fun making paper flowers. We were very grateful for the help of our volunteer, Barbara, who worked with the children and supported them beautifully with their careful and colourful creations.
In PE, we have completed our cricket unit. The children have developed their batting, bowling and fielding skills and shown great teamwork and sportsmanship during games. It has been fantastic to see their confidence grow over the weeks.
During RE, we have been using drama to deepen our understanding of the Resurrection. By acting out and discussing key events, the children were able to reflect thoughtfully on their meaning and significance.
Well done, Year 6, for another brilliant week full of enthusiasm and effort. =
Have a lovely weekend with your families.
Mr Parkinson
