Over the past couple of weeks, Year 5 have been diving into an exciting new Design and Technology topic: South American food! The children have been busy researching a variety of traditional dishes from across the continent, learning about ingredients, flavours, and cultural influences.

This week, the classroom was filled with excitement as the children had the opportunity to sample a selection of South American foods. From new textures to bold flavours, they approached the experience with enthusiasm and curiosity. It was wonderful to see so many pupils willing to try something new, and many discovered new favourites along the way!

Looking ahead, the children will be using their research and tasting experiences to begin planning their own South American-inspired dishes. They will think carefully about ingredients, flavours, and presentation before moving on to the cooking stage in the coming weeks.

We are very much looking forward to seeing (and smelling!) their delicious creations. Stay tuned for updates on their culinary journey!
